Prof. (Dr.) Ranjit Singh

Prof. Ranjit Singh is Vice Chancellor, Shobhit University, Gangoh, and Director, Adarsh Vijendra Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, a constituent Institute of Shobhit University. Prof Singh studied at Dr. Harisingh Gour Vishwavidyalaya, Sagar (M.P.), where he received B. Pharm., M. Pharm. and Ph.D. degrees in Pharmaceutical Sciences between 1989 and 1997. He is recipient of GP Nair memorial IDMA Gold Medal for standing First in B. Pharm. examinations, Prof. Ishwar Chandra memorial Gold Medal for earning First Position in M. Pharm. examinations, UGC Junior Research Fellowship during PG, and CSIR Senior Research Fellowship during Ph.D. & National and State Scholarships during schooling.

He has received more than 40 awards including Distinguished Alumnus Award from Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Dr. H.S. Gour Vishwavidyalaya, Sagar in 2006; Senior Scientist Award, 2009 from All India Medicos Society, Hoshiarpur (Pb); Honorary Fellowship of Royal Society of Medicos, India, 2011; IDMA best paper award, 2012 in the area of Pharmaceutics; Al-Ameen College of Pharmacy Award, 2013 in the area of Pharmacognosy under IJPER awards; Best Educationist Award from International Institute of Education and Management in 2014;

Prof. Singh has vast academic and industrial experience. He worked as Formulation & Development Officer at Sun Pharma Advanced Research Centre, Baroda, Lecturer, B.N. College of Pharmacy, Udaipur & Dept. of Pharm. Sciences, HNB Garhwal University, Srinagar (Uttarakhand), Reader, Dept. of Pharmacy, MJP Rohilkhand University, Bareilly, U.P., Professor & Head at Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, HNB Garhwal University, Srinagar (Uttarakhand), Director, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Shobhit University, Meerut, U.P., Director-cum-Principal, Govt. College of Pharmacy ,Rohru, Shimla H.P., Director, Academics, ISF College of Pharmacy, Moga, Punjab, Dean, Academic Affairs & Pharm. Sciences, Bahra University, Shimla Hills,H.P., Director, CT Group of Institutions, Jalandhar, Punjab; Prof. Singh also worked as Pro-Vice-Chancellor and officiated as Vice- Chancellor of Shobhit University, Meerut, U.P.

Prof Singh has more than 208 publications to his credit in journals of National and International repute, 100 presentations and 14 patent applications published. He has more than 107 presentations/ invited lectures/books/chapters to his credit and 38 webinar appearances as Chief Guest or Guest of Honour or Resource Person. He has guided thirty- eight M. Pharm. dissertations and thirty-one research scholars for Ph. D degree. He is on the panel of Reviewers, Advisory & Editorial board of different journals. He has delivered many invited lectures and attended a number of Symposia, Seminars & Conferences. Prof Singh has been on the panel of expert members of various regulatory bodies like AICTE, PCI, NBA and NAAC. He is also on the panel of different statutory bodies of many Universities.

Prof. Singh has contributed in the field of drug delivery systems, phytopharmaceuticals and standardization of drugs. His main area of research encompasses both novel as well as conventional oral drug delivery systems. He has varied research experience in the field of pharmacy which includes drug discovery, novel analytical techniques, herbal excipients and drugs, targeted drug delivery etc. Oral route of administration appeals him too much and he has produced some very good publications in this area.
