Q1. What is convocation?

Ans. Convocation is the University graduation ceremony to award degrees to students and honorary graduates.

Q2. Is there any fee?

Ans. Yes, Convocation fee is Rs. 500/- per student. Desirous eligible students should pay the fee before Saturday, May 19, 2018 in cash at the university fee counter or through a bank draft of Rs. 500/- drawn in favour of Shobhit University, payable at Gangoh.

Q3. Is there any mandatory rehearsal of the convocation?

Ans. Yes, there will be a rehearsal on the same day as the convocation, Thursday, May 24, 2018 at 8:30 am.

Q4. When and where is convocation?

Ans. The convocation ceremony is on Thursday, May 24, 2018 on the Shobhit University, Gangoh Auditorium.

Q5. Do I have to bring something with me while attending the convocation?

Ans. Yes, you must carry a Photo Identity Proof (University Student ID Card, Voter ID card, PAN card, Driving License or Employee ID card) with you as a proof of their identity.

Q6. Who are eligible to receive their degrees at the Convocation?

Ans. The students who are qualified for the award of Degree on or before 25 September, 2017 are eligible to receive their degrees at the Convocation.

Q7. How will I know that I am eligible for attending the convocation?

Ans. You can check whether you are eligible for attending the convocation or not from the link Degree Recipients on the convocation website by entering your Roll Number or your Programme Name. Click here to check now.

Q8. How do I indicate that I wish to participate in the convocation ceremony?

Ans. To attend the convocation you have to register yourself through the University website and confirm your participation.(Click here to Register Now)

Q5. Do I have to bring something with me while attending the convocation?

Ans. Yes, you must carry a Photo Identity Proof (University Student ID Card, Voter ID card, PAN card, Driving License or Employee ID card) with you as a proof of their identity.

Q9. Where do I go on Convocation day?

Ans. You have to report at the specified reporting area in University Campus.

Q10. What should I wear for convocation?

Ans. For the day of convocation, formal dress is appropriate. All degree recipients must wear the convocation robes during the convocation ceremony. Please do not use slippers / chappals as footwear.

Q11. How do I get my convocation robe for the convocation ceremony?

Ans. The convocation robes for the convocation ceremony will be made available to you by the University on the day of convocation at the designated counters near the convocation venue 7:45 am onwards, on payment of refundable security to the vendor.

Q12. Can I get my degree before the convocation?

Ans. No, you cannot get your degree before the convocation.

Q13. What about the students who have not cleared their University dues?

Ans. Students will be awarded degree only after clearing their University dues.

Q14. If I am not attending convocation, how do I receive my degree?

Ans. If you are not attending the convocation you can collect it from the University as per your convenience during the official hours of the University on any working day after Friday, May 25, 2018

Q15. Is there a limit to the number of guests I can invite?

Ans. With prior permission, only parents or spouse is allowed to attend the ceremony, no other guests are permitted.

Q16. Can children attend the Convocation ceremony?

Ans. No, only Parents or spouse of the degree recipients can attend the ceremony.

Q17. Can I purchase photos of my Convocation ceremony?

Ans. Yes the photographs of the ceremony can be purchased directly from the officially appointed photographers available on the event and softcopy of the photographs are also available online after 3 days of the convocation ceremony.

Q18. Can my guests take pictures during Convocation?

Ans. No, guests cannot take pictures during the ceremony. Only officially appointed photographers are allowed to take photographs or any form of audio-visual recording.
